Library
Structured knowledge for the founder's journey. Curated reading, tools, and frameworks - not more content. The right material at the right moment.
The information problem the founder faces
The founder's problem is not a lack of information. It is an excess of it. Every day, hundreds of articles, podcasts, tweets, and newsletters compete for the founder's attention. Most of them are the same advice recycled, the same frameworks repackaged, the same success stories retold. The founder who tries to consume it all does not become more informed. They become more overwhelmed, more confused, and more likely to make the decision that sounds most familiar rather than the decision that is most right for their specific situation.
The SOE Pro Library exists to solve this problem through curation, not through accumulation. Every resource in the Library has been selected for a specific purpose - to help the founder think through a specific problem, to provide a framework for a specific decision, to offer perspective on a specific challenge. The Library is not a collection of everything the founder might find useful. It is a collection of what the founder actually needs, organised around the structure of the founder's journey so that the right resource is available at the right moment.
Three categories of knowledge
The Library is organised into three categories, each serving a different need in the founder's journey. The first category is reading - the essays, articles, and chapters that provide the intellectual foundation for the founder's thinking. The Playroom chapters are the core of this category, but the Library also includes curated external content - books, essays, research papers - that the SOE team has identified as essential reading for founders at specific stages of their journey. The reading is not assigned. It is recommended, based on where the founder is and what they are working on.
The second category is tools - the frameworks, templates, and checklists that translate thinking into action. The Workshop tools form the core of this category. Each tool is designed to take the founder through a specific thinking process - a fundraising decision, a co-founder conversation, a product-market fit analysis - and produce a documented outcome that the founder can return to. The tools are not templates to be filled in. They are thinking instruments that help the founder think more clearly about the problem they are facing.
The third category is frameworks - the mental models and conceptual structures that help the founder make sense of complex situations. The Map, the Loop, the Canvas, the Decision Engine - these are the frameworks that underpin the SOE methodology. Each framework is explained in the Library with enough depth for the founder to understand it, apply it, and adapt it to their own context. The frameworks are not dogma. They are starting points - the foundation that the founder builds their own thinking on top of.
The progressive structure
The Library is structured progressively - the resources are organised not by topic but by the founder's journey through the chapters. The founder who is in Chapter One sees a different Library than the founder who is in Chapter Five. The resources that are relevant to the early stage - ideation, validation, first hire - surface first. The resources that are relevant to the later stage - scale, governance, exit - become available as the founder progresses. This progressive structure ensures that the founder is never overwhelmed by resources they do not yet need, and that the resources they do need are always within reach.
The progressive structure also means that the Library grows with the founder. The founder who has completed the early chapters and is moving into the build phase finds that the Library has expanded to include the resources they need for that phase. The founder who is navigating the challenges of growth discovers the resources that are relevant to that context. The Library does not dump everything on the founder at once. It unfolds, chapter by chapter, matching the founder's evolving needs with the resources that address them.
